provides low cost alternative

Lightweight Prolite® polypropylene tubing provides a low-cost option for applications requiring cleanliness, good surface hardness, dimensional stability, and a high strength-to-weight ratio. It is suitable for use in pharmaceutical processing, chemical lines, and general fluid and air transfer. Its properties, which include excellent chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, high dielectric strength, resistance to corrosion, and low surface friction, are similar to those of PTFE fluoropolymer tubing. Polypropylene tubing, which can cost up to twenty-six times less than PTFE tubing, has a lower temperature resistance, making it easier to weld or bond. Another benefit is its light weight. Polypropylene is the lightest of all thermoplastic materials, offering a distinct advantage for portable equipment applications. Tubing is stocked in ten sizes from 1/8 to 1 I.D., along with accompanying push-to-connect fittings. Custom sizes, repetitive cutting, coiling, heat-formed shapes, and colors (other than its natural cloudy-white) are also available.
