This Convertible Containment System is made for use in today’s research and scale-up facilities. The system is designed to work with a V-shell automated blender that may be handling “potent” and “less-potent” compounds depending upon the specific production campaign. An open-face design provides containment for compounds with OELs of 1 ug/m3 or more; the addition of glove-panels transforms the unit into an isolator to achieve OELs less than 1 ug/m3. A unique sliding sash system provides high and low access points, and multiple access doors provide easy cleaning and disassembly of equipment. The enclosure incorporates a mobile bench and side table allowing the blender controls to rest outside the unit while the V-shell and arm remain in the containment zone.
