Tablet Press Offers Improved Productivity, Flexibility and Availability

The FE55 tablet press is clad in easily detachable, FDA-certified high-performance polymer panels and provides 360-degree access. The press offers a unique filling system for simple, safe feeding of even the most complex product mixtures. It features an unrivaled ratio of punch stations to footprint (as many as 87 punch stations on 1.6 meters) which increases production output up to 50 percent, as well as the ability to produce single-layer and double-layer tablets and direct pressing (the only machine of its compact size to offer all three capabilities). It is additionally characterized by a dust-tight, through-the-column discharge assembly for good, out-of-specification and sample tablets. The press’s newly developed compression stations provide maximum flexibility for mono-layer, double-layer and direct-compression tablet production, and it is equipped to handle approximately 90 percent of the most common tablet formats. When configured for double-layer tablets, the device uses its optional third compression station as a tamping station for the first tablet layer. The machine’s double-layer tableting setup features identical compression rollers and filling devices; direct compressing utilizes an easily installed and removed third compression station. When configured for bi-layer manufacturing, the pneumatically actuated lower roll assembly raises the first lower compression roll to temporarily increase the hardness of the first tablet layer, which allows the layer to withstand the trip through the sampling chute and be weighed. The FE55 can revert to normal operation in just over four seconds without requiring operator input and features smooth-running pressure rollers that are automatically driven into parking position for easy turret change. Other features include: a coded tablet scraper, a coding ring for avoiding assembly errors, and an all-in-one central utility plug for oil, air and power. The tablet press features the Tri.Easy design concept which offers simplicity as a key to efficiency.  The new Compacting Human Machine Interface (HMI) offers uncomplicated, intuitive operation for maximum efficiency and security.  The HMI’s highlights include: company developed Visual operating platform with countless enhancements and modular architecture, an SQL server database, and swift access to the machine’s most important functions via 12 pictogram buttons.
