Laminated High-Barrier Film

The Pentapharm® film product line has been extended to include Pentapharm® ACLAR® PA600/02 barrier film for pharmaceutical packaging applications, a two-layer laminated film that provides the highest moisture barrier available in the product line. It is made with Honeywell’s 152-micron ACLAR®UltRx6000 — which is 50 percent thicker than the current maximum gauge ACLAR® films available in the marketplace today — for a 50 percent increase in moisture barrier. The film is ideal for solid oral-dose packaging, powders, ethical drugs, OTC, generics, physician samples, veterinary medicine, and nutraceuticals that require an ultra, ultra-high moisture barrier. It is a cost-effective solution because it allows for small footprint packages, which require less material and total cost per package as compared to other packages in the non-polymer ultra-high barrier range. It is transparent, non-yellowing, and offers excellent machinability on existing standard form/fill/seal packaging lines and tooling. With rigid vinyl as the product contact layer, it also offers sealability to common vinyl-compatible lidstocks.
