The Pre-Lyophilized Inspection Machine (PLIM) performs particle inspection prior to the lyophilization (freeze-drying) process. It’s a camera-based system that gently handles the vial and detects particulate matter in the liquid (e.g., glass, metal, fiber) that, after freeze drying, cannot be detected accurately. Detection of these particles is important to ensure quality during the production process.
