While measuring the moisture content of pharmaceutical powders in a Fluid Bed process by Near-IR is a common application, overcoming uncertainties associated with product fouling the measurement window has been a challenge to such solutions taking control of the process to the desired moisture end-point in manufacturing environments. The company’s gauges have been successfully employed in thousands of extremely diverse manufacturing processes as safe, robust and accurate Near-IR In-process control solutions. Two systems are available: the NDC PharmaView Self-Cleaning Viewing Window and the J&M Lighthouse ProbeTM with clean-in-place capability co-developed with GEA Niro Pharma Systems (NPS). Both solutions incorporate the ability to automatically clean the measurement window ensuring the gauge’s effectiveness as a Near-IR process control solution for fluid bed processes.
