The QuickStick™ LSM (linear synchronous motor module) is an integrated component of Medical Instill Technologies’ Intact filling system. The QuickStick enhance the fillers capacity for a variety of pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and sterile processing applications. The LSM system consists of meter-long linear synchronous motors that connect end-to-end within a vehicle guideway system. Using electro-magnetic force, the motors control vehicles equipped with permanent magnet arrays, moving them to pre-programmed positions along the guideway. The motors track each vehicle’s position and communicate with each other at all times. Vehicles can move bi-directionally at speeds up to 2.5 meters per second, stop at multiple stations with a repeatability of +/- 0.5 mm, and carry loads in excess of 1,000 lbs, depending on acceleration and velocity requirements.
