Vangent, Inc., a global provider of information management and strategic business process outsourcing solutions, has announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has awarded the company a ten-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract to provide information technology support services for the FDA’s Information and Computing Technologies for the 21st Century (ICT21) Program. The full contract is valued at approximately $2.5 billion dollars. Vangent will serve as a sub-contractor to IDL-Pragmatics Innovation Partners JV, a joint venture of IDL Solutions, Inc. and Pragmatics, Inc., one of 10 organizations receiving awards under the ICT21 contract. The FDA developed the ICT21 program to enhance product development and approval, improve manufacturing and product quality, strengthen post-approval surveillance and safety, support electronic prescribing, and advance clinical decision support. Under the contract, Vangent and other awardees will collaborate to provide innovative, effective, and efficient solutions for meeting the stated mission, program, and task order-level objectives of FDA and ICT21. The contract includes awards in both the large business and small business categories.
