EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Bristol-Myers Squibb says it will cut 100 jobs from its Syracuse-area operations by the end of 2010 as the drug maker consolidates its Drug Safety Evaluation group into facilities in Indiana and New Jersey. The company employs 650 workers in East Syracuse, where it develops ways to make new drugs in small-scale manufacturing. Officials say most of the East Syracuse positions will be transferred to the other sites, and workers will be offered transfers based on the skills needed in the jobs that are open.
