TOKYO - The Japan unit of major British pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline plc said Thursday it has stopped distributing its New Poligrip EX denture adhesive and will begin a voluntary recall Friday as zinc contained in the product has raised health concerns.

Long-term excessive use of the zinc-containing adhesive could lead to problems such as anemia and numbness in the arms and legs, said GlaxoSmithKline K.K.
