Mylan generic drug for gallstones approved by FDA
Mylan Inc. said Tuesday it received clearance to sell a generic version of the drug Actigall, which is used to dissolve gallstones.
Mylan said it received Food and Drug Administration approval to sell 300 milligram capsules of ursodiol, the active ingredient in Actigall. The brand-name version of the drug is made by Watson Pharmaceuticals. Mylan said U.S. sales of the drug totaled about $30 million in 2009.
