Purdue Pharma today announced that Saeed Motahari has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

"Saeed's experience and expertise make him uniquely qualified to lead our commercial efforts." Saeed has more than 20 years of pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience, and a proven record of achieving commercial excellence. He joins Purdue from AbbVie, where he served as Vice President of US Sales and Marketing, Specialty Brands - New Launches. In this role, he led launch preparations for AbbVie's investigational products for HCV, Parkinson's, and Oncology. Saeed also has a demonstrated record of building high-performing commercial teams that excel at identifying and meeting customer needs. He will bring these skills to Purdue, as well as strategy development experience, brand management success, and managed markets expertise.

Prior to working at AbbVie, Saeed held integral roles in Sales and Marketing at Abbott Laboratories, most notably in Specialty Brands, focusing on the Renal, Endocrinology, Acute Care, and Neuroscience therapeutic areas. Before Abbott, Saeed held various commercial roles in global marketing analytics and new product development at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Hoffmann-La Roche.
