Chemical-Resistant Port Connectors

The company offers the most complete range of port connectors available for the bioprocess market. The ports are manufactured from the company’s new E8402 material which is highly resistant to alcohol (100 hour 70/30 isopropanol immersion) and other commonly used chemicals like sodium hydroxide. E8402 is animal-derivative-free, meets USP Class VI requirements and tests non-hemolytic and non-cytotoxic per ISO 10993-4 and 10993-5 requirements. All ports are manufactured in a controlled Class 8 cleanroom environment. Performance is excellent with highly polar liquids such as esters, aqueous acids, bases, alcohols, glycols and ketones — for the chemicals tested. The ports are heat-seal and weld compatible with polyethylene bags, and have better flexibility and elasticity than similar products made from polyethylene. In addition, the ports are more efficient at dampening stress at the bag-weld zone when final tube connections are made. The range of ports includes ribbed and domed base ports that inhibit suction blockage, opposing barb ports for dip tubes, smooth base barbed ports, threaded ports for use with caps and boat ports for welding into bag seams.
